The displays shown below are a sample of the interactive display products that Trinity Electronics has designed and manufactured for the Oil Sands Discovery Centre (www.oilsandsdiscovery.com).
Rotating Drum
This was a motor control project. The cylinder rotates as visitors walk through the display.
Animated Display (How Oil Is Used)
An animated display illustrating the uses of oil in the internal combustion engine, home heating, and a turbine jet engine.
Video Display
Trinity Electronics supplied a control system which would start a VCR when a button was pushed and then stop the VCR when the piece was finished. To minimize the rewind delay, several copies of the video program were recorded onto one tape. When the last show was played, the tape was rewound.
Sequenced Lighting Display
An oil marketing exhibit. Trinity supplied coloured tube lighting and a light sequencer. The tubing was placed between the oil drums and was turned on sequentially, from the bottom of the display to the top.
Vessel Animation
This exhibit is one of three vessels illustrating the operation of a coker, a fractionator, and a hydrotreater. Hundreds of lamps demonstrate the liquid flow within the vessels.
Flow Totalizer
The constantly increasing numbers indicate the amount of oil produced from the oil sands.
